Planning your adventure elopement can be just as stressful as planning a huge festival wedding. But it doesn’t have to be. So many couples are turning to Adventure Elopements in Tasmania to escape the crowd of onlookers and bring weddings back to what they are really about, two people with a world of love between them.
What I love most about working adventure elopements is the very isolation of the location and definitely the adventure of getting to the location. It’s not just about walking down the aisle, it’s an adventure of love for both the couple. It’s brings it back to being a very personalised event, and the promises you make to each other are for you both and only you.
A wedding that is truly just about you and your love int he mist unique and isolated environment.
I guess you are probably wondering what the difference is between an elopement and an adventure elopement. Have you ever been to somewhere super popular and seen a couple eloping and stopped to watch or take a moment to admire them? I know I have. Sometimes couples choose elopements to escape the big parade of onlookers and find themselves marrying with a big parade of onlookers that they don’t know. If you are even slightly anxious in social situations this can be an absolute nightmare. For some people elopements are a budget friendly option.
Adventure elopements take you and your wedding crew (celebrant, photographer, videographer, hair and make up stylist etc) to a location where you are totally isolated. You aren’t on the heavily touristed route, you are together alone in a jaw dropping location. Your service providers double as your witnesses. It really is just about you and your partner and nothing else. It is special.
Adventure elopements are the new wedding photographer “must have” and below is why.
Im just going to put it out there, my ultimate Adventure Elopement wish, you never know; it may be your dream Adventure Elopement and I may be the one who helps that dream become reality. Dear cyberspace, please send this to all the couples searching for the Ultimate Adventure elopement so that I may meet the ultimate adventure elopement couple.
You wake up early, eager and excited. Its your wedding day. The planning phase has run so smoothly, everything has been prepared for you and all you have to do is turn up with your clothing ready for the ultimate adventure. You have had several phone and zoom meetings with your vendors and they all dig the vibe of an adventurous wedding, they are all just as if not more excited about today as you both are. They want it to run perfectly smooth and to be everything you envisioned. If you require it, your hair and make up stylist arrives early to begin preparations for your hair, make up will be done on site if its a long walk.
As you all meet at the trail head, you excitedly meet each other face to face and prepare for the walk ahead. There is non stop chatter and stopping to admire the beauty surrounding you and of course one member of your elopement team is filling you in on all the nature, culture and history of the area because she is that obsessed with it (it’s me!). Within an hour you arrive at your location and you are even more stunned to see it in real life than you were with the images you were sent. A beautiful shallow lake filled with huge rock formations reflecting a tremendous mountain. Or maybe it’s a giant waterfall thundering over fern surrounded boulders. Maybe it is even a historic trappers hut surrounded by Fagus trees. Oh, is it that completely isolated beach with the crashing waves and lichen covered rocks surrounded deep crystal clear rock pools? Where ever it is, you are alone and when you all stop there is nothing but the sound of nature. No phone range, no tourists walking by and stopping to watch, just you and your elopement team in the middle of no where and surrounded by the most stunning Tasmanian scenery.
Make up and hair styling is completed whilst a platter filled with local eats is set out and the local wine, beer or cider is poured to get the mood set. It is perfect. You dress and prepare to stand together at your chosen spot, maybe barefoot, whilst your celebrant performs your personalised ceremony. You seal the deal with a huge kiss and wander around together hand in hand laughing and enjoying your moment that is just yours. Meanwhile your ninja like photographer is capturing those beautiful natural moments that you will share with your loved ones when you arrive home to celebrate.
More photos, food and drinks before you head back to the trail head and set off on your solo adventure. Or maybe you brought a tent and are heading on a walking couples honeymoon? What ever your plans, it is the perfect way to celebrate your love.
I have been lucky enough to capture a few adventure elopements, some with guests and some with out and I can tell you right now… It is my absolute favourite genre of wedding photography. The intimacy and the level of personable service is a winner for me.
Adventure Elopements are not a new thing, in fact many countries have been successfully calling wedding tourists for years into their remote locations. But I am hoping to bring light to the beauty of Tasmania and its absolute jaw dropping possibilities for a unique and isolated adventure elopement location. After all, adventure elopements are a wedding photographer “must have”.
